How Many Way’s can we Enjoy our Meal, With our Crockpot?

Apparently, our eating patterns have a direct impact on our overall health and general well-being. Unfortunately, most of us have resorted to skipping meals perhaps due to the hectic nature of our work. Nevertheless, skipping meals, especially breakfast is one of the biggest mistakes you could ever make. Health experts and nutritionists recommend that you should eat at least 3 times a day with snacks in between to keep your body energized and revitalized.

Nevertheless, eating three times a day does not mean that you should grab any burger or pizza that comes your way, especially if you want to stay healthy. We advocate that you should eat well by indulging in healthy homemade foods only. Processed and junk foods contain unhealthy fats, artificial sugars, and preservatives that may cause chronic diseases and disorders.

So, do you want to enjoy your meals without worrying about your health? Follow these crockpot recipes that will establish your healthy eating patterns.

This System Offers Four Convenient Cooking Functions—Oven,                       Stove Top, Steam, and Slow Cooking.

The appliance consists of three components, including a ceramic or porcelain cooking pot, a glass lid, and a heating element. The cooking pot is fixed inside the heating unit to ensure that the food you are cooking receives sufficient heat from the bottom and sides.

Notably, crock pots have two heat settings only, either low or high. This makes using the appliance extremely simple. Essentially, you do not have to worry about setting the wrong temperatures or burning your food, as the heating options available are either low (200F) or high (300F). Despite its simplicity, a crockpot can cook a wide range of meals. Initially, the appliance was marketed as a bean cooker. Nevertheless, this is no longer the case. You can use this cooker to prepare meat, chicken, stews, soup, and even bread.

The reason why most people consider foods prepared using a Crockpot as healthy is that the appliance cooks food slowly while supplying heat to the entire cooking pot. Furthermore, the pot has a glass lid that retains steam in the container subsequently destroying any bacteria or disease-causing pathogens. This ensures that you eat food that is safe and ideal for establishing healthy eating patterns.

Very interesting and enlightening on what can be done with a crockpot. I was rather limited on what I thought you could do with one. One of the things I thought was that you mainly use a crockpot, or slow cooker, for one meal a day. Great article and great recipes it seems.

    Hi Jack,

I find the use of the crockpot for family cooking extremely useful. The way you explain the dynamics of the pot and how it cooks food evenly certainly caught my attention. From a personal standpoint, I have trouble ensuring the meals I prepare are, especially, not overcooked. The crockpot will be very helpful in this regard. Where recipes are concerned, I love the scalloped potatoes with ham dish. And I know my kids will love it as well!

This is an interesting article. I learned some new things about the slow cooker I didn’t know. I was rather enlightened about what you can do with them and found it interesting that it was originally for beans. It came out of singular use, unlike a rice cooker that many households use and just keep their rice in throughout the day since it’s a mainstay of their diet. Great job on the article.

  5. Renton

This is a fantastic post! I think that these recipes are great and they look really delicious! I really like slow cooked food because it&rsquo always has the taste of the natural flavors and any spices you add get locked into the dish somehow. It is also great that using a crockpot does not lead to digestion issues which can be a real problem for me.

I prefer homemade food to junk food because, like you say, the artificial stuff is not good for your body and if you run an experiment and compare your energy levels as well as how you feel generally you will find that a healthy home cooked meal will win hands down.

Can you slow cook a week’s worth of food and then keep that in the fridge   or would that decrease the health benefits or flavors somehow?

Thanks for sharing this great information!
