The Health Connections Within You Revealing Your Healthier Life
Let’s face it. Health and nutrition are topics that we cannot overlook. In any case, whatever you eat or drink has a significant bearing on your overall well-being. Essentially, for your body to function optimally, you must eat the right diet and practice healthy habits. Consuming unhealthy meals is leeway for chronic conditions and ailments such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.
Unfortunately, very few people are keen on following a strict dietary regime. With the emergence of processed meals and delicious-looking fast foods, it is very hard to resist the allure of indulging in this type of diet. Many people, feel processed foods undoubtedly taste better and look yummy, more so than a healthy diet made up of vegetables and fruits. It is therefore not surprising that obesity has become a global pandemic.
Thankfully, this does not have to be you. If you care about your well-being, it would be prudent of you to embrace natural options to improve your health. Here are a few ways you can enhance your health naturally:

Practical Ways To Eat Right And Exercise, For Your Life!
– Reduce your fat intake
The impact of excess fat on your body can be extremely detrimental. Thankfully, you can easily avoid this by cutting down on your fat intake. Instead of using butter on bread or sour cream on salad dressings, opt for natural low-fat options available at most grocery stores. In addition, you can cut down on excess fat by changing your cooking methods. Instead of frying, you can try boiling, grilling, steaming, or baking your food, as these methods do not
require oil.
– Switch to coconut oil
Vegetable oil is the most preferred cooking oil in nearly every home. However, if you are keen enough, you will notice that most of these oils do not contain purely natural ingredients. The majority of these oils are chemically created, and they contain harmful ingredients such as aldehydes and polyunsaturated fatty acids, which have long been linked with chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

As you might be aware, coconut oil comes with dozens of benefits, and it can be useful for numerous applications other than cooking.
– Always filter your water
Health experts and nutritionists recommend that for you to remain healthy and toxin-free, you must drink at least eight glasses of water every day. Ideally, water helps the kidneys flush out toxic substances from the body through urine and sweat. It also helps in digestion, detoxification, skin hydration, and nutrient absorption. Nevertheless, this can only be helpful if the water that you drink is clean.
Sadly, most people do not even bother to check on the quality of the water they drink. This can be potentially dangerous to your health. To avoid the onset of waterborne diseases, consider filtering your water to remove harmful organisms and toxins.
– Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
Instead of eating burgers, potato crisps, or biscuits as snacks, always opt for fruits or vegetables. Fruits such as bananas, oranges, and avocados are not only tasty but also nutritious. They come with dozens of nutrients that help boost your immune system, prevent inflammation, and improve digestion. Furthermore, fruits and vegetables act as anti-aging agents thanks to their antioxidant properties.
– Quit unhealthy habits
Habits such as smoking cigarettes and excessive consumption may cause a wide range of diseases, including bronchitis, lung cancer, and liver cirrhosis. These chronic diseases will not only impinge on your health but also negatively affect your quality of life.
With the emergence of various solutions, including patches, nasal sprays, and natural nicotine replacements, you can now kick bad habits out of your life!
– Avoid processed foods
Processed foods can be rich in taste and aroma. However, they lack a large portion of essential nutrients. In essence, the process used to prepare these foods normally eliminates vital nutrients that are important for your health. In addition, various studies suggest that the consumption of processed foods increases the chances of developing multiple chronic diseases such as diabetes and cancer. With this in mind, it is advisable that you stick to natural, organic foods.
– Reduce your salt and sugar intake
Too much salt in your diet is not good for your blood pressure. Salt is known to spike the level of pressure subsequently increasing the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Instead, use good, natural alternatives such as oregano, nutmeg, or paprika.
In the same breath, avoid foods and drinks that contain too much sugar and artificial sweeteners. Drinks such are soda contain artificial flavors and sweeteners that may spike your glucose levels subsequently causing various diseases. A good alternative would be fermented drinks such as yogurt or milk. Moreover, you may make your homemade ginger ale or lemonade to avoid the repercussions of consuming artificial ingredients.
– Eat whole grain
The benefits of eating whole grains cannot be understated. Research shows that eating whole grains and high-fiber foods helps in reducing constipation, enhancing digestion, and lowering blood cholesterol levels. These benefits further lower the risk of various diseases and conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.
– Lower your cholesterol levels naturally
However, as you might be aware, too much cholesterol in the body can cause all sorts of health problems ranging from heart disease to high blood pressure. To reduce your cholesterol levels, it is advisable that you consume foods that contain soluble fiber, omega-3 fatty acids, and whey proteins. Also, reduce your intake of saturated fats and trans fats.
– Embrace herbal products
Herbal foods and spices such as cinnamon and cardamom are not only nutritious but also medicinal. These herbs can help enhance your health by boosting your immunity and improving blood circulation. They also aid in supporting detoxification, decreasing inflammation, balancing blood sugar, fighting bacterial and fungal infections, and supporting cognitive functions.
As far as skincare and hair care are concerned, consider using herbal products that contain natural ingredients.
Factors that may supplement your healthy eating options
Using organic, natural options is undoubtedly good for your health. However, these options are not enough. You must supplement available alternatives with other programs to achieve your health and fitness goals. Here are a few factors you must consider
– Exercise
Being physically active and exercising regularly are important if you want to maintain your health. Eating nutritious meals without exercising regularly does not make sense. Without exercise, the food that you eat might turn into fats and make you obese.
The good news is that it is not necessary for you to indulge in intense physical activities to maintain good health. You may work out by walking to work, jogging, dancing or even skipping rope to remain physically active and keep your body in shape.

Visiting the doctor for medical checkups is another vital factor that you must consider if you want to enhance and maintain your health. The doctor may spot signs and symptoms of a disease or ailment you never thought you had. However, the fact that it has been diagnosed early increases your chances of finding a cure.

This is another hit Butler!
This post is very thorough.
That’s why I stopped. I have some bad practices that I should get rid of. Your post helped me introspect!
For example drinking enough water….uuh, I don’t think I did it well.
It’s not because there is no water around but ITS MY BAD HABIT not to drink enough water.
By the way, I’ve heard that there is some sort of HEALTHY FATS…I don’t trust what many people say out there!
Are their fats that are healthy, Butler?
Probably you will help us understand as your profile shows that you’ve got trustworthy experience!
Thank you Butler for sharing like tips like these in this post!

Thank you, Oscar, for your ongoing and very important comments within our better health for today blog, as they are a key driving force for the development of our site in so many ways. It is great to hear of your agreements and how beneficial our content has been for you, Heare is some thoughts on bad fats.
There are, however, right and wrong fats. The wrong ones (saturated and processed) take a long time to break down and contribute to bad cholesterol. I hope to hear from you soon, sincerely, Jack

Hi Jack
Interesting article. I would agree with most of what you’re saying; reduce sugar, limit salt, exercise, etc.
However, I would like to point out that eating fat, in and of itself, does not make you fat. Fats actually have a lot of energy that release slowly in the body. If they’re not using, yes, they get stored by the body as fat.
There are, however, right and wrong fats. The wrong ones (saturated and processed) take a long time to break down and contribute to bad cholesterol. You should also be clearer about cholesterol…the are two types…HDH and LDH…and both are necessary but at different levels. You may want to say, therefore, to ‘correct your cholesterol levels’.
I would also agree with eating a lot of veg, but not so much with fruits, as fruits have a lot of sugar (natural as it is), that either burns off quickly (if you’re active) or gets quickly stored as fat in the body.
Exercise, I would say, is the key to a healthy lifestyle, regardless of your personal chemistry and metabolism.
Otherwise, good article
Cheers,
Dave

What I do like to do is that even if I take a fast food meal, I don’t do it on a regular basis. These type of diet is obviously not good for the body but because of how it tastes it can be pretty difficult to do without. So once in a while, I treat myself to something this delicious and make sure I don’t do it on a regular basis.
Exercising is not a regular habit for me but I am recently trying to improve this. What I do know I regularly do is to take lots of vegetables and also once in a while go for some herbal products.

This was a great article, but what exactly makes vegetable oil unfavorable. Is it the methods of processing or just the nature of vegetable oil itself.
Its good to let people know this so that they either know whether to be mindful of the processing and extraction or be wary of the oil entirely.
Jack Butler
Thank you, Idara, for your very important comments within our better health for today blog, on the My health Connection post, as they are the mainstay of the development of our site is so many ways. Here is the paragraph from the post explaining why many vegetable oils are bad for you.
