I always enjoy reading your articles, Jack, and this one was no exception.
The first two things I picked up were lay off the sodas and get plenty of quality sleep.
The Western World’s consumption of soda, filled with a ton of either processed sugar or, even worse, chemical sugar substitute (I’ll have a Big Mac, large fries and, umm… a Diet Coke, thanks) is the number 1 factor in the burgeoning obesity epidemic.
And it’s just a habit, rooted in childhood. With the occasional exception of Jack Daniels and Cola, I haven’t had a soda for fifty years and, if I take a sip of someone else’s just to try it, I can’t believe how sickly sugary sweet it tastes.
Plenty of quality sleep is so important too. I work out my bedtime by subtracting 8 hours from my natural wake-up time of 5:30 – 6:00am.
Your list of fruits and their benefits is great. I’m a big fan of avocado and blueberries but was less aware of pomegranate. I’ll be sure to give it a try.
Your vegetable list was an eye-opener. Plenty there to experiment with.
And my old Breville blender has served me well but it’s getting close to retirement so I’ll have a good look at your recommended Vitamix 6500 as well.

Thank you for sharing ¨Diet and Nutrition, Experience the Vitality of Your Better Health for Today¨. I noticed you combined in your article vegetables (spinach beet, broccoli sprouts, mushrooms and cumin) and fruits (avocado, apples, pomegranates, lemons and blueberries), as part of better health for today. In this regard, I´d like your opinion on Dr. Atkins diet.Today´s Atkins focuses more on lean proteins, healthy fats, and high- fiber vegetables as part of the diet. The promise is that you can lose weight while you eat a diet rich in protein and fat and very low in carbs, and you shouldn´t feel hungry or deprived.Does bacon and eggs for breakfast, smoked salmon with cream cheese for lunch, and steak cooked in butter for dinner sound like a weight- loss menu too good to be true?. What happened to vegetables and fruits?

Thank you, Enrique, for your ever so amazing comments within our better health for today Blog, on the diet and Nutrition post, as usual, they are so amazing and loaded with very beneficial knowledge, your thoughts are always a major growth factor of our health Blog as well. I would have to agree the Atkins diet is showing amazing results, and you can eat, and be full, it is based on lower carbs, that would otherwise turn into unhealthy high levels of sugar. I believe it is also good for the mind, as it needs so fatty elements and protein. I hope to hear from you soon, sincerely, Jack

These list of fruits and their benefits is great and exhaustive. I love the apple among the mentioned fruits but didn’t know about blueberry’s and their health benefits. Therefore I’ ll try it out too and see if I can fall in love with them too. Your vegetable list was superb and contained so many of them to try out!
However, my major concern is that the fresh fruit and vegetables are very expensive compared to the bottled ones and these processed fruits and vegetables already lost their nutrients during processing and as such are less valuable than the fresh ones
