Decreases joint pain – Joint pain is extremely common in overweight people. As your body mass increases, your bones will ultimately become incapable of supporting the increased weight hence causing joint pains and inflammation.
This may not only impede your movement but also increase the risk of developing serious conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.
Improves blood sugar levels – Obesity is widely regarded as one of the main causes of diabetes. With this in mind, losing weight not only reduces the risk of developing diabetes but also helps improve blood sugar levels in people living with the disease. Embracing healthy eating plans can greatly help you lose weight and control blood sugar levels.
Improves fertility – It might come as a surprise but losing weight improves fertility. Being overweight leads to high androgen levels and causes irregular menstrual cycles. Additionally, obese people have a higher risk of developing polycystic ovarian syndrome, which causes infertility in women.
Losing weight will not only restore your normal menstrual flow but also reduce the risk of PCOS subsequently improving your fertility.
Decreases stress – Besides providing several medical benefits, adopting healthy eating plans for weight loss comes with dozens of lifestyle gains. You will have a more active social life with greater confidence. Furthermore, slimming down helps decrease stress levels and improves your mood.

Greater confidence – Sadly, being obese attracts mockery from society. Obese kids are usually victims of bullying in school while overweight adults are often looked upon with roving eyes. This can put a huge dent in your self-esteem and overall confidence. Nevertheless, by slimming down, you can enjoy greater confidence in whatever you do, wherever you go.
Improves body image – The desire of any man or woman is to have a well-toned body with a great physique. However, this cannot be possible if you are overweight. With a protruding belly and an amorphous figure, obesity
will certainly cause your body to lose its shape. However, by slimming down, it becomes much easier to achieve the body that you always yearn for.
Helps you breathe easier – Obesity is highly associated with breathing problems such as asthma and other respiratory issues. Overweight people normally have breathing problems due to the excess fat that blocks respiratory paths. Hi, thanks for this interesting post.
I really have problems sleeping, not that I’m overweight very much but when I eat a big portion for dinner I can hardly fall asleep.
I don’t drink alcohol, maybe that would help but I don’t want to start with that.
It is exactly the problem that I have, I don’t like investing any time in controlling my calorie input, I eat when I’m hungry and regularly at noon and in the evening.
I read about this trick just before, try every dish but don’t eat it up. I think this sounds interesting, what do you think?

Your detailed explanation on why it is important to lose weight is very helpful to me. I am an older person,77 years young, and I want to thrive, not just to live out my years. But for this, I need energy so I try to eat healthy and exercise. Since it is not always possible to exercise I would like to know what is your recommendation regarding food supplements to increase the metabolism to help reduce weight. I agree with you that drinking water is important but I do not understand why you object to cold drinks. A cold lemonade is my favorite drink. Hi Jack,
I enjoyed your article on healthy eating plans for weight-loss and I think you’ve offered some very sound tips. Eating at home and planning your meals is one that really resonates with me. Healthy eating can be a real challenge when you eat out. Many restaurants do offer healthy choices like salads or lean proteins. But there’s also a lot of temptation that many people find it difficult to resist. Even when eating at home, planning is so important. You can’t prepare healthy meals if you haven’t purchased the ingredients. I think many of us get into trouble because we’re disorganized and frequently grabbing poor choices at the last minute. Healthy eating is a choice that requires commitment. Thanks for addressing this important topic!
