    Hi Jack,

    Gout is the most painful thing that has happened to me in my life. I can attest to most of your remedies, because I have tried them, and they do in fact relieve the excruciating pain of gout. I like to make celery seed tea, by boiling about two tablespoons of seeds in about two cups of water, strain and sip until it’s gone. I also drink two or three cups of cherry juice, and 1/2tsp baking soda in a small glass of water several times a day, and all the water I can drink!!

      Epsom salts also works in a very warm soak for the toes feet and ankles. I thought that the hot water would make the gout pain increase, but it does not. Anything to make your blood more alkaline induced will melt the uric acid crystals in the body, and gets them moving out of the affected area. Lemon juice and vinegar are also good to use, for making the body more alkaline enhanced as well. I dilute the vinegar to about 3 capfuls in a small glass of water. Drinking it through a straw would help to keep these alkaline drinks from affecting the teeth. I have been reducing my weight, so the gout flares have been less acute.

    Thank you for your information regarding gout. My uncle suffered from gout a while ago and he has an unhealthy lifestyle: alcohol, smoking, and almost never exercised.
